James Walbourne
James Walbourne, British singer/guitarist/multi-instrumentalist was nominated on this journey by Bernard Butler. James is one-half of The Rails– the other half being his wife, Kami Thompson. Since 2008, he has been guitarist for The Pretenders and previously was part of Ray Davies of the Kinks’s solo band and toured with The Pogues. Other notable acts he has played and recorded with include Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Davies, Edwyn Collins and the Pernice Brothers.

After being the sideman to artists smart enough to recognize his formidable talent, James Walbourne has created a great album of his own, The Hill,released in 2011 to great acclaim (named after Muswell Hill where he lived at the time). James and Kami have released their first Rails and album Fair Warning on Island Records.
