Reg says: “One of the first albums I ever owned and certainly some of the first songs I ever learned to play were Bert’s. I was especially drawn to the possibility of writing about very dark and important subjects like ‘Needle of Death’. I later played with Bert and Davy at The Troubadour in the 1990s. When it came to deciding on how to play ‘She Moved Through the Fair’ for my current release ‘Songs of Love & Death’, of course I turned to Bert’s interpretation.” You can also see Reg perform She Moved Through the Fair on the TransAcoustic guitar.

Mike Harding said on his BBC Radio 2 Folkshow “Whether it’s a village hall or the Albert Hall, Reg brings to the stage a collection of extremely beautiful songs, performed with humour and depth, and sung with the voice of an angel. Reg has that rare gift of being able to touch people, through his songs and performance, on a really human level. His words and music paint pictures that remain with the listener long after the song has been sung.”
