Peter Ivey
Peter is an amateur guitarist with “50 years’ slow progress” behind him! He first started playing John Renbourn pieces in folk clubs when he was 17. Then he went on to discover Bert Jansch and Pentangle. But Peter fell out of the habit of playing publicly during a diplomatic career spent mostly overseas. Now in retirement, he has been a regular performer at folk clubs in the Hampshire area.
Bridge
A Bert piece, played by Peter Ivey for Bert Jansch
Peter says: “I love this instrumental piece composed by Bert for the 1980 Thirteen Down album with Conundrum. I lived in Putney in the early 1980s and would sometimes see Bert in the Star and Garter or Half Moon – so in my mind it’s about Putney Bridge! Bert’s incredible guitar playing and songwriting have been an inspiration to me for the past 40+ years! ”
For this project, Peter also recorded Lucky Thirteen with Jack Theaker
