Jens Stage
Well-known in Denmark, Jens Stage has been on the guitar scene for over 50 years. Jens feels a special connection to Bert. “I was introduced to Bert through his album Box of Love in the early ’70s, which I love to this day. I was pleased to hear Bert live in Denmark three times in the ’70s. At the Aalborg gig, I arrived more than an hour before the concert. Only me and another guy were there. I bought my beer and went to sit at the table where the other guy was sitting. Suddenly I realised that the guy was Bert – but I was so confused and shy, that I didn’t say a word to him!”

In 2016, Jens spontaneously wrote a song for Bert, called simply ‘Bert Jansch’. It includes verses of three of his most iconic songs: Needle of Death, Blues Run the Game and Running from Home. He feels that the ‘intro’ and ‘outro’ reminds us of Angie. Jens is greatly honoured to play this special song on the travelling TransAcoustic on its journey round the world.
